B & B Empire Bagels
This baked round looks familiar — and yet it doesn't. At first glance, it's an old-fashioned, handmade bagel: golden and shiny and beautifully uneven. But it's smaller and chewier, with an admirable compactness and a pleasing touch of sweetness.
These are classic Montreal–style bagels. They stem from the same source as their New York counterparts: a 17th-century Jewish baker who invented them in honor of a European king.
We craft our insanely fresh bagels (and more) on the premises--at the rate of up to 15 dozen an hour, and we're thrilled to serve them to Brooklyn Heights and beyond.
